Army men break into houses and attack people and damage furniture at mid night

Army men , who had trespassed into a house in Nagarkovi, Vadamaradchchi at mid night, had attacked the inmates and damaged the household items. Then they had gone into neighbouring houses and attacked the residents there and damaged the household items.

An altercation occurred between the army men and public during Thai Pongal celebration in January. Following  this continuous searches had been made, several people were arrested and some had been charged in courts. A particular youth had been searched for by the Army and although the police say no such person is searched for, the army men are going to the house of this youth and threaten the inmates.

In this context, Army men had gone into this house on Friday at mid night in uniform and weapons and had assaulted the inmates in which an old woman was injured and admitted to Pointpedro Hospital. They have also smashed the vehicle parked in the house. The attackers had left behind an army cap and a mobile phone which had been handed over to the police and a complaint had been made with the police.

Meanwhile the police had demanded that the youth searched for by the army to them and arrangements had been made to hand over said youth to police on Monday.
