In a context where our children were handed over to the Army, and had been made to disappear, Army has to take responsibility of our children, the Association for Missing of North and East had said.
A member of the Association A. Leelathey has said so in a Media Conference held at the Vavuniya Media Centre.
Elaborating further, she said that, an Army officer had recently said that the missing persons did not surrender to them, and reply should be given by the Government.
You will not hear such a joke in any other country. This is not a matter to say that Army and Government are different entities. Army was in the Forward Defence Lines. We handed over our children to the Army.
In this context, the officer saying that missing did not surrender to them is not only liable to mockery but also making idiots out of Sri Lankan people.
We handed over our children to the Army and they are accountable for them she said.
