Arnold to Mayoralty – Mawai : “It’s a rumour” – Sumanthiran : “He is the Candidate”
It has been revealed in the yesterday’s News Papers the NPc, E.Arnold has had resigned his membership in the NPC so as contest the Mayoralty Election, as he has been appointed by TNA to do so.
However, the Leader of ITAK, Mawai Senathyrasa has said the news is a complete rumour and the that some people throwing out false information to gain popularity for themselves and prioritize people they wish. He also said that no such decision has been taken.
Meanwhile the Secretary to ITAK released a statement yesterday saying that, the party has not taken any official decision regarding the person who will contest the Mayoral election. It was a general understanding that the prime candidates shall not be announced. Hence no one should create un-necessary problems he said.
M.A. Simanthiran MP, the Spokesman for TNA had come out with a different story. When talking to the Media men yesterday he had firmly said that Arnold is the Mayoral Candidate.
It is notable that Arnold submitted his letter of resignation from NPC Membership on the 14th which had been approved and this had been intimated to the Election Commissioner yesterday.
