Arts Faculty lecturers refused to attend lectures- Insist action on outraging students
The students who engaged in violence should be identified and disciplinary action should be taken on the, said the Dean of the Arts faculty, Suthakar.
Elaborating further he said that a confrontation resulted among the students of the 2nd year and 3rd year students, following the keys of the motor cycle of a 2nd year student was taken by force by a 3rd year students.
False information has been spread by the students through the media. On the contrary, the VC , Dean and lecturers who tried to defuse the situation and remove the 2nd year students safely were subjected to abuse and assault.
The council of the Arts Faculty condemns this and request the action be taken on the students involved. We demand that as a first step the students identified as involved in the confrontations should be banned from entering the Campus. Until such time we will boycott attending lectures, he said.
