Attack on Antonov 32 plane case to be heard on daily basis from Jan 12

Anuradhapura Special High Court Judge, Khema Swarnadipathi ordered that the case relating to shooting down of the Sri Lanakan military Antonov 32 plane be heard continuously, starting from 12 January.

The plane flown by a Russian pilot was carrying 32 armed personnel and was flying from Palali to Ratmalana when it was shot down with a missile at Wilpattu. It crashed at Weerawewa killing all members aboard the plane.

The accused in the case are Rasathurai Jegan alias Pulawan and Neerweli Swamilingam alias Sinnathilakan.

The government earlier this month appointed a Special High Court to hear the cases of those who were arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
