Anuradhapura Special Court yesterday sentenced two former members of the LTTE Air wing , charged of assisting Tigers to attack Anuradhapura SLAF base, Anuradhapura, to Ten years of Rigorous Imprisonment, yesterday.
Suspending the sentence for 5 years, Justice Mahesh Weeraman ordered that the suspect be released.
P. Aravinthan of Chankanai, Jaffna and Rasavallan Thavaruban, alleged to the former Leader of the LTTE Air Wing were released on suspended sentence after being in jail for 8 years.
Following both of them pleading guilty, to the charges cited in the charge sheet the judge sentenced them as above.

P.Aravinthan of Chankanai, Jaffna and Rasavallan Thavaruban, alleged to the former Leader of the LTTE Air Wing were arrested and detained by the TID.
A charge sheet was filed against them in 2016 in the Anuradhapura Special Court, accusing them of causing a loss of Rs.4 Billion by destructing 16 Air Crafts and killing 14 SLAF men.
It is notable that 21 Black Tigers were killed in this attack
