A person from majority race has approached the Department determining the Ownership of properties, in order to claim ownership of Nallur “ Manthiry Manai” , a historical legacy of Tamil people, it is understood.
This Majority race person has approached the said department in order claim ownership to this legacy of Tamils, majestically located to the South of Nallur Saddanathar Temple, adorned with Thravidan Architecture and ornamental wood work.
Although, no building of the periods of Tamil Kings are found in their full regality, locations such as “Manthri manai “, “ Sangiliyan Thoppu”, “Rasavin Thottam” , “Pandaramalihai” “ Pandarakkulam” and “ Jamuna aeri” are still to be found partially dilapidated form.
It was learned that this “ Manthiry Manai”, after being the residence of a Hindu priest had moved into the purview of the Archaeological Department.
The “Manthiry Manai” area considered to be a land area belonging to the heirs of the Saddanathar Temple Atheena Lineage. They have obtained a security Guaranty from Jaffna Court in 1921.
This is Per- Dutch period structure and the relevant Officials and Politicians should take action to preserve this historical structure.
