Batti Civil Society praises JVP for voicing for Tamil political prisoners

Batticalo District Civil Society has praised and expressed its gratitude to the JVP for making a request to the government for the release of Tamil political prisoners.

The letter is signed by President of the Batticaloa Civi Society S.Mamangarajah. It is addressed to JVP Parliamentarian Vijitha herath. The letter said:

‘We congratulate you for the statement you released to the media asking the government to release   immediately all the Tamil political prisoners in custody for the past many years and to reelase them   without any conditions. You are the first Parliamentarian from the Sinhala community to voice for them. This is a need of the hour and you have made it.’
