National Anthem is to be sung in both Sinhala language and Tamil language during the Independence Day Events this year. Addressing a media briefing, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratne said that it has been decided that this year the National anthem will be sung in two languages during the Independence Day event. The approval was received during the cabinet meeting held this week. He also explained that the Constitution of Sri Lanka recognizes the singing of national anthem in Tamil also.
