Case of  3 TPPs will not be taken up in Anuradhapura Court, AG informs court

The Attorney  General has informed the Appeal Court that, the case of the three TPPs, Mathiyarasan Sulaksan and Kanesan Tharsan and Rasathurai Thiruvaral, who are detained in Anuradhapura prison will not be heard in the Anuradhapura court. Two witnesses in this case are abroad and we are unable to contact them. We need more time to contact them, the Attorney General informed the Appeal Court yesterday.

An appeal was filed on behalf of the TPPs to revoke the order of transferring their case to Anuradhapura Courts. This case taken up on the 15th of this month, where the AG informed the court that one witness had consented to testify at the Vavuniya courts and two others are abroad and that they need time to contact them. Following this submission the case was postponed till yesterday and taken up for hearing yesterday.

AAL of the AG’s Department informed the court that, the case of the three TPPs, Mathiyarasan Sulaksan and Kanesan Tharsan and Rasathurai Thiruvaral, who are detained in Anuradhapura prison will not be heard in the Anuradhapura court. Two witnesses in this case are abroad and we are unable to contact them. We need more time to contact them. Court adjourned the case till 15th December.
