Jaffna High Court on 24th rejected the confession of the suspect who has been arrested and detained for the Missile Attack on SLAF Aircraft at Compady, causing death of 45 security forces men.
A missile attack was made on an SLAF Aircraft on 1st January, 1999. Air Force Officer, the pilot, Air Force Sergeant and an Air Force Corporal were killed in this attack.
Thillairajah was arrested as the suspect of this attack. He was charged by the TID as having made the missile attack on the Air Craft. A case was filed on him by the AG department in the Jaffna High Courts on March 15th, last year.
This case was being heard before High Court Judge M.Ilancheliyan. The Confession of the suspect was placed as the main evidence. However, it was argued on 17th of last month that the confession was not obtained voluntarily.
