Case cannot be transferred  just because the accused are on a fasting protest, advises Court

The Colombo High courts Judge, Champa Janaki Rajaratne has clarified to the 5 persons arrested for planning assassinate MP, M.A.Sumanthiran that however long they will fast their cases will not transferred to another court.

When the accused had informed that they are on a fast for the last 14 days demanding that their case be transferred to Jaffna High court and they have not taken even for the last 14 days. the judge had said so.

When the case of plotting the assassinate M.A.Sumanthiran was taken up for hearing yesterday, 3 of the 5 accused requested that their case be transferred to Jaffna High Courts.

The hearing of this case has been postponed to 5th of December.
