The police filed cases against 3 Kepapulavu protesters. Police is filing cases to distress the protesters , it is reported.
Kepapulavu people undertook an attention drawing protest demanding release of their lands.
In this context police took several action to drive away the people and the OIC of Muliyawalaim Police have filed cases against V.Indranee of Model village, K.Chandraleela, a human rights activist and J.Britto Fernando of Negombo.
Police has cited that people are causing disturbance to the peace of the Army soldiers in the camp; Protesters may commit some crime on the soldiers; people who come from out offering support to the protesters may commit some crime against the soldiers and submitted that the protest be moved to the usual point and that no supporters should come from outside.
However, following unanimous submissions by all the AALs of the court, rejecting the charges of the police and reiterating that the people are protesting from their released lands, the judge had allowed that the protest could be undertaken from a spot 75 meters away from the Army camp and the judge had ordered that AALs, police, state side and people should jointly visit the spot and take a good decision.
Meanwhile the protesters complained that the Army is threateningly taking photos and videos of the protesters.
