The President of the All Ceylon Hindu Mamantram and the Chairman of the Thiruketheeswaram Temple renovation Committee and a popular Attorney at Law, Kanthaiya Neelakandan breathed his last in Colombo at around 2.30 p.m. yesterday. An accomplished Social and Religious worker, he is a native of Karanavai in Vadamaradchchi. An old boy of both Uduppiddy American Mission School and Jaffna Hindu College, later attended the Law College and became an AAL in his young years.
He has worked without respite in Law field and for the growth of Hindu Mamantram for around 50 years.
During the crisis periods he had assisted well Tamil people rendered Refugees. As the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Humanitarian Organization he had provided his services to several Orphanages and University Students.
He had gone home day before yesterday after organizing a Hindu event at Saraswathy hall and had fell victim to a sudden heart attack. Born in the year of 1947, he leaving behind his wife and three children, all of whom are AALs.
