Claymore attack at Vadamaradchchi – Arrested person interrogated at the TID
The TID has taken into their custody the main suspect arrested in connection with the claymore attack made on Police in Vadaramaradchchi, and interrogating him at the TID.
This suspect arrested by the Military intelligence on 30th was handed over to the TID.
The said Claymore attack was made on 27th at the junction near the Vallipura Aalvar temple. Police personnel are engaged in patrol in the area and they had been stationed at the spot to prevent illegal sand mining and sand smuggling.
In this context, when police officers arrived at the spot for their routine work, a bomb had exploded from under ground and a police officer was injured in the explosion.
Police is suspecting that the sand smugglers had targeted the police officers engaged in preventing sand smuggling.
In this context, the TID has placed the suspect under their custody continuing interrogation.
