The Northern Chief Minister, C.V. Wigneswaran took over yesterday the ministries of the two Ministers who had resigned in addition to his own Ministry.
The committee which inquired into the complaints against the Ministers of the NPC recommended the resignation of two ministers. In the sitting of the NPC on 14th, the CM requested the two Ministers to resign. Following the two ministers rendering the resignation letters, CM had taken over their Ministries.
He was sworn in yesterday evening by the Governor Reginold Cooray. Commenting after the swearing in, he said that he had taken necessary action for the Ministries to operate without hindrance. We will wait and see what will happen now, he said.
