Conditions in NE not conducive for repatriation of refugees: Tamil Nadu CM

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Pannerselvam has stated that it is premature to repatriate Lankan refugees to Sri Lanka since situation in the north and east is not satisfactory enough although the change of regime has given hopes.

In a letter sent to Prime Minister Modi, Paneerselavam satted:“The conditions in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka are still not conducive for the refugees to return to their native land. The presence of the army in the northern and eastern provinces is a major concern.”
