Confrontation between Arts Faculty students of the University of Jaffna: Five injured

The altercation among students of the Arts Faculty of the University of Jaffna, ended up in fighting resulting in 5 students being admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital. The 3rd and 4th year sections of the Arts Faculty have been closed indefinitely, said the Administration circle said yesterday.

The Campus has been made out of bounds for the 3rd and 4th year students of the Arts Faculty from today, until further notice. 2 students of the 3rd year and 3 students of the 4th year were injured in this confrontation.

P.Vishvageeth (aged 23) of Alaveddy East and  K.Kishnthan (aged 23) of Thunnalai East, Point Pedro, both of the 3rd year were the students admitted to Hospital and one of them was seriously injured in the face. Although 4th year students were also admitted to hospital, they have escaped from the hospital it is reported.
