Constituent Parties express concern of being sidelined by TNA and the Government
An all party conference on the 20th Amendment was held yesterday led by the President day before yesterday. The Leaders of the constituent Parties of the TNA had expressed concern that the President Maithripala Sirisena and the Leader of the Opposition had side lined them from this conference.
Parties in the UPFA, Parties operating with the UNP, ITAK and several parties which do not have Parliamentary representation were invited for this important meeting which was held in the Official residence of the President, day before yesterday night.
Although, PLOT, EPRLF and TELO were registered political parties, they were not invited for this meeting. Although it had been decided in the TNA coordinating Committee that the constituent should be included for All party meetings, only Sampanthan and Sumanthiran had attended the above meeting. Hence the above parties had requested the President, that, they also should be invited for all Party meetings.
