The case of the 3 TPPs which was transferred from Vavuniya Court to Anuradhapura Special court has been ordered by the Appeal court to be transferred to Vavuniya Court. 99 days after an appeal was filed in Appeal Court this order has been delivered.
The appeal was taken up before a judges Panel consisting of the Chairman of the Appeal Court and Justice, Preethy Pathman Soorasena, and Justice Shiran Goonewrdene, the above order was delivered to the Attorney General’s Department, yesterday.
Following the senior State Council, Assad Navi who appeared for the AG Department, stating that one of the witnesses who refused testify at Vavuniya had consented to testify at Vavuniya and contact cannot be established the other two, the AG Department have no objection to transfer the case to Vavuniya, this order was delivered.
The three TPPs, Kanesan Tharsan, Mathiyarasan Sulaksan and Rasathurai Thiruvarul undertook a continuous struggle against their case being transferred to Anurathapura Special Court to Vavuniya Court and filed an appeal in the Appeal Court appealing their case be transferred to Vavuniya Court.
Various people and organizations undertook struggles in support of the TPP.
