Corona infected person in Akkaraipattu. Thirukkovil area blockaded

The Chairman of the Thirukkovil  Pradeshiya Saba has announced yesterday that a ban had been imposed indefinitely from Saturday,on people moving into Thirukkovil area or people going out from it.

A corona infected person was detected a few days back at Akkaraipattu area. Following that a meeting was held attended by the Divisional Secretary, Thirukkovil, the Thirukkovil Pardeshiya Sabha Chairman, PHIs of the area, police and the Army and the decision on the ban was taken.

Various precautionary activities had been undertaken including  establishment of police check post to prevent people from coming into or going out of Thirukkovil area. makets had been shifted and shops except pharmacies and shops selling essential good had been ordered closed.

Awareness creating programs had been undertaken with the help of Police , Army and members of sports clubs.
