Court consent for a check post established at Kurunthoormalai, an ancient land  of Tamils

The Mulaitheevu Magistrate Court has consented to establish a security point at Mulaitheevu/ Kurunthoormalai, an ancient village of Tamil people.

Further, the court has ordered that, no constructions, which could create religious tension or constructions related to any religion could not be constructed there.

Although the court has banned any construction at Kurunthoormalai, the Archaeological Department had shown interest in putting up a building there.

Hence the Temple management had requested court to look into this matter.

Temple administrators, former NPC member Raviharan, officials of Archaeological Department and the police were present in Court yesterday. After the Department Officials submitted that they wish to put up a security post there and submitting the approvals from District and Divisional Secretaries, the delivered the above order.
