Crimes increased in the North – People think Army is needed here, says Sitharthan, MP

The crime rate in the North has increased and an opinion is prevailing among the Tamil people of the North that the Army checkpoints and checking are needed at this juncture, said the Leader of PLOT and TNA MP, T.Sitharthan.

The Vavuniya District Head office PLOT was declared open at Kovilkulam yesterday and speaking to the media later he had sais so.

Speaking further he said that the forthcoming election seems to be important and a need has arisen for the Tamil people should vote united and show their strength. After the last Presidential Election, we see that Sinhala nationalism is being spoken of and the aspirations of the Tamil people neglected. If we stand divided, that will affect the strength of the Tamil people.

The president is from a military back ground  and he know more than me about missing persons. If they say that the missing persons are dead, we cannot leave it simply. They have the obligation of saying when, where and by whom they were killed, he said.
