Curfew cannot be removed in Jaffna, says Secretary to Defence, Major Gen. Kamal Gunaratna, in Jaffna

The Secretary to Defence Ministry, Maj.Gen. Kamal Gunaratne who was on visit to Jaffna said there that it is impossible to remove the curfew imposed on Jaffna under the present context.

The Secretary on his his visit met the media in Jaffna and said as above to them.

The responsibility of safeguarding the people of Jaffna is with us. Jaffna is also found to be Corona infected like Colombo. Therefore it will be impossible to remove the curfew under the current context.

He further said to the medicament that he has two requests for people of Jaffna. First is that they should keep indoors during the curfew. Second is that they should speak the truth to them. we are ready to help the people. But if they are not speaking the truth we will be unable to take any any action he said.

The people of Jaffna should pay more attention on these two matters, he said.
