Don’t cheat minority people anymore, requests the CM of Eastern Province

State leaders should abandon political stratagems of cheating the Minority people and come forward to provide them with their rights, The Chief Minister of Eastern Province, Habis Naseer Ahamed.

He said this in a media conference held yesterday.

Some people are attempting to pursue their politics thinking that they could hoodwink the minorities. The days when minorities were cheated had become bygones’. People are not ready to be cheated again. Defeating them all, and with good reconciliation,  the TNA and the SLMC are pursuing the development , distributing the allocated funds without area or racial discrimination.

Without knowing the field realities of Easter Province are creating splits among Tamil and Muslim people in the guise of reconciliation.

There are clauses in the 20th amendment, giving controlling powers to Parliament over Provincial Councils. Powers to dissolve the PCs also are included. These clauses should be amended. 7If clauses beneficial to the Minorities and enacted in the 20th amendment, the EPC is ready to consider that, he said.
