We cannot desist from calling aloud the reality that this country will face a massive challenge, if the ethnic problem is not solved with open hearts, said the Chief Minister of Eastern Provincial Council, Seinulaptheen Naseer Ahamed.
He was addressing the public after opening an Agricultural In-service Training Centre in Karadiyan Aru, located on the Batticaloa – Badulla Road, day before yesterday. If a best solution is found in this regime for the Ethnic problem which had gangrened the nation , an unfortunate situation of not getting political power devolution may continue for another half century.
It may be different revolution in the East. It may not be an armed struggle, but it may be a poverty based struggle. Unemployed boys and girls could start a revolution because of their poverty.
Lot of National leaders had to make sacrifices to eliminate the racist poison. We have provided an example in the matter of ethnic unity, he said.
Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the TNA, Era Sampanthan, Eastern Minister of Agriculture K.Thurairasasingam, MPs of the East and the members of the Provincial Council, participated in the event.
