EU will lift ban on Sri Lanka fish imports in the very near future

The Ministry of External Affairs has pointed out that the ban imposed on Sri Lankan fish imports to the European Union will be lifted in the very near future. The European Union imposed this fish ban imports on January 17th January 2014.

Director General of the Economic Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry Grace Asirvathan addressing a news conference announced that a delegation from the European Union is due in Sri Lanka on the 12th of next month to look into the local fisheries activities.

Miss Asirvathan pointed out that a special workshop has been organized to watch whales with the intention of promoting the tourism industry in Sri Lanka.

Acting Director General of the Eastern Asia Pacific Division Amir Ajwad revealed details of an official visit to be undertaken by President Maithripala Sirisena to Thailand from the 01st of next month. He also disclosed to journalists at this news briefing details of the benefits accrued by Sri Lanka through the visits of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe to Japan and Singapore.
