Every day 80 people are treated for COVID at Jaffna Hospital – 34% Diabetes patients; 20% Pregnant Mothers; Mortality rate 1.2%

Dr. C Yamunananda, Deputy Director of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital said that the number of COVID patients currently being treated at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital is around 80.

According to a press release issued by him,

Currently 34% of patients admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital with COVID infection are diabetes patients. 20% of mothers are pregnant mothers. 5% are children.

About 25% of patients with COVID requires oxygen treatment. The mortality rate of COVID patients  is 1.2%.
