Families of disappeared launched a symbolic Hunger Strike in Batticaloa

Several hundred relatives of the disappeared are a symbolic hunger strike today in Batticaloa at Gandhi Park, demanding to reveal the whereabouts of their kin and their immediate release.

The hunger strike will be held till 5.30 pm. Hunger Strikers have announced that they will continue their hunger strike if their demands are not met. They also marched towards the palace of District Secretariat and handed a petition to the Government Agent. Mrs.P.S.M.Charles.
