A final decision will be taken in a high level meeting to be held at Palaly today presided by the President Maithripala Sirisena, regarding the release of Lands in Valli North which are under the control of the Army formore than 25 years.
A decision on how much land could be released will be taken in this meeting, it is reported.
President and the Prime Minister are to visit the North for the National Pongal Festival. The above meeting will be held at 09.15 a.m. with President presiding over it. The Army Commander, the Minister of Resettlement , High level Army officers and the District Secretary, Jaffna, N.Vethanayagan are to participate in this meeting. It will be decided as to how much land could released on an overall basis.
It is also notable that discussion will be held about releasing all lands except the KKS harbor and Palaly Air port.
