Government preparing list of people who have not been rehabilitated, under the guise of providing Livelihood

The activity of collecting names of members of LTTE and similar militant movements who have not undergone rehabilitation, under the guise of providing livelihood assistance to them, have been commenced by the Government.

The Rehabilitation Authority has sent letters to the District Secretaries to collect details of those who have not undergone rehabilitation so far to provide them with Livelihood assistance.

It has been stated in this letter that currently there is self-employment loan scheme  is in force for 12,000 former militants, who had been rehabilitated under the office of the Commissioner of Rehabilitation. It has  been proposed to extend this facility to those who  had been members of the LTTE and similar  movements and consequently lost the chance of education and remaining unemployed.

However the public organizations are doubting that this activity is being undertaken to covertly collect the details of those who have not undergone rehabilitation.
