It is a great sorrow that the pride of Tamils and their blood that was shed should be reminded- says the South Indian Painter Pukazhenthy
While saying that it is a great sorrow that Tamils should be reminded of the pride of the Tamils and the blood shed by them, the popular South Indian painter, Pukazhenthy also said that, no Tamil need to have knowledge sans the emotion nor emotion sans knowledge.
The Tamil Festival -2018 with a theme of ‘Thamizhamutham ‘ under the aegis of the Student’s Federation of the University of Jaffna, incorporating all Tamil students of all Sri Lankan Universities was held yesterday at the play grounds of University of Jaffna.
Participating in the event as Chief Guest, popular South Indian painter, Pukazhenthy said as above. The life and politics are not different from their Arts.
Thus we have lost several of them and are losing what is remaining. In this context there is an obligation for redeeming and reviving the arts, now. The arts of Tamils cannot separated from their legacy and politics.
As a person who has taken our pain our emotions, our struggle. Our losses and our tribulations all over the world, I have good faith in the Arts.
We may have met setbacks. This set back and the defeat should form a lesson for our surge forward. Emotions only are not adequate. A time has come for us to act with knowledge, he said.
