In the context of a Protest Rally condemning the postponement of UNHRC Report, it is reported that a high level committee of the UN Secretary General will visit Jaffna next Monday to review the situations. They will meet several parties in Jaffna, it is understood.
This group led by UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman visit Sri Lanka on Saturday and are expected to meet Political leaders including the President and the Prime Minister, and representatives of Civil Society representatives. They will also meet the representatives of TNA.
Feltman visiting Sri Lanka for the first time will discuss matters including the building up of relations between UN and Sri Lanka, Accountability regarding past incidence, and Re-conciliation.
They are scheduled to meet the Chief Minister, Justice C.V.Wickneswaran and other dignitaries while in Jaffna.
