Identified Human remains completely removed from the Mannar Mass grave

The Human remains which were identified but remained in the Mass Grave were completely removed yesterday.

The excavations were temporarily stopped after a meeting held at Mannar  court on 23. March 2019 and the Kelaniya University Professor Raj Somadeva was requested to submit his report within 3 months.

In this context the excavation site was cleaned and identified remains were removed completely. The mass grave is to be expanded a little and is to be safely covered with polythene for three months.

It is notable that Prof. Raj Somadeva  will be submitting his report on the mass grave and the soil layers within three months.
