The Ceylon Teachers Union is condemning the bank which had interdicted its staff for commemorating Muliwaikkal, said the Secretary of the Union, Joseph Stalin.
In a press release of the union, he had said that the union is condemning the bank, for interdicting two of its employees for commemorating Muliwaikkal in the Branch. The Bank administration should understand that this matter has sentimental link to people’s feelings. The said Bank has revenged two of its staff for remembering their dead relatives. This act of the Bank has deeply hurt the feelings of the Tamil people.
A justifiable doubt rise as to whether the bank taken root in Tamil area to hurt feeling of a race with a dominant attitude and exploit the finances of the same race. We demand that the bank which has dismissed the employees for democratically remembering their dead relatives to reinstate the dismissed employees immediately, and respect the feelings of the Tamil people.
We warn that if the bank continues to hurt the feelings of the Tamil people, the union will undertake massive protest actions against the Bank, he said.
