Inauguration of the Federation of Vanni Citizens’ Committees

The Citizens’Committees of Vavuniya, Mannar, and  Mullaitheevu have joined together to form the Federation of Vanni Cittizens’ Committees.

The inaugural event of this Federation was held on the day before yesterday, at Odduchuddan, Mullaitheevu.

The Federations’ organizers said they have formed the said federation with a view to expanding their activities and to create a coordinating body for the Cittizens’ committees of Vavuniya, Mannar and Mullaithevu.

Further their purpose of forming a federation is to find solutions jointly to problems, Development needs, problem of missing persons and Tamil political prisoners.

Rev. Fr. E. Sebalai (Mannar), was elected as president, while I.Yasotharan(Vavuniya) as Secretary, E.Sabesan (Vavuniya) as Asst. Secretary, P.Navaratnam(Mullaitheevu) as Tresurer A.sahayam, S.Punyamoorthy(For Mannar), T.Parameswaran, V.Yogalingam(Mullaitheevu) and T.Salasolon, A.Jeyachandran as Committee members.
