India can’t dictate mode of SL’s relationship with China: Champika

Minister Patali Champika Ranawake has observed that India cannot dictate the basis of Sri Lanka’s relations with China. He made this observation during an Interview with an India’s English daily.
He added that under the new regime, a situation has arisen to improve relation between India and Sri Lanka. The ties between the two countries can be built up on cultural, religious and sports fields. Since there had been reports alleging that terrorist organizations were prodided with training on the Indian soil, it has created apprehension among the majority community in the island. Therefore, there ought to be a change on the attitude of Indai.
He went on that in view of the changes that have taken place in the island, Tamil leaders must engage in dialogue with Lankan leaders to resolve their problems instead seeking India’s engagement.
