Indian Army operated from Vavuniya during the final war: Former Minister Karuna

Karuna alias Vinayagamoorthy, who held important position in the Mahindha Rajapakse Government during the war, former Minister, former Vice-President of SLFP and former Commander of LTTE , said that, when the final war was fought in Vanni, an Indian unit was stationed in Vavuniya and that, they served in the Satellite and Artillery units.

Karuna who said this during an interview granted to ‘ Puthiya Thalaimurai’ TV of India on Saturday, also said that, Rajapakse alone should not be accused, for massacring Tamil people in their thousands, because several other countries including India were responsible for that.

There is less likelihood that LTTE Leader, Velupillai Prapakaran being shot by the Army and most probably he had shot himself to death, said Karuna.

Further he said that, Balachandran, the youngest son of Prapakaran, was arrested alive and was tortured to death. This a cruelty of cruelty and that, this is not acceptable.
