An indication that the ‘making to disappear’ will continue: Ananthy comments on Office for Missing Persons

The Office for the Missing Persons is to be established as an advance preparation indicating there are many Tamils in Sri Lanka to be made to disappear. This is an ‘eye wash’ Office. Even if the information is known as to who was behind the disappearances it could not be publicly told, said the Minister of Cooperatives of Northern Province, Ananthy Sasitharan.

The relatives of the missing persons are staging a struggle for the last 196 days demanding to publicize the details of missing persons. They were met yesterday by the Minister of Cooperatives of Northern Province, Ananthy Sasitharan.

The president is trying show that he has a cordial relationship with the relatives of Missing persons. But he is found to be a president who is unable to say in which school he met the missing school girl who had appeared with him in a news paper photograph.

The Sri Lankan Government had not given any assurance that the structured genocide had been ended or it will not occur again. In this context, the Office for Missing persons could be only man eyewash, she said.
