ITAK Women fronts beat their war drums: say no to Sumanthiran’s candidates

The Colombo Branch Women’s Front of ITAK has taken a stance against Sumanthiran selecting the women candidates.

The Women Front members went to the ITAK Head Office in Jaffna at the end of the Women’s Day celebrations held at Weerasingam Hall, to lodge their protest against Sumanthiran selecting the women candidates.

Women’s Front had been groomed well by the leaders of the party in the past. Sumanthiran is trying to bring an unknown and alien woman as the candidate if ITAK and send her to the Parliament, said the Vice president of the Colombo branch Mithilaichchelvi.

The Women’s Front has not asked for National list appointment. We have demanded to field a candidate from us and we will make her to win.

We hope that the leaders of ITAK will take proper action on Sumanthiran who is trying to send a woman not familiar to the people to parliament and fulfill his purpose.
