Jaffna Central wins the ‘Thrilling to the last’  “ 112th Battle of the North”

The 112^th Battle of the North saw Jaffna Central winning by one wicket. This Match started on Thursday at the Central College grounds. Winning the toss, Central elected to Field.

1^st Innings of St John’s:  

St John’s scored 217 runs losing all the wickets.

Batting : Serophan scored highest with 65 runs. Denusan- 32, Dinosan – 28

Bowling :  Vijaskanth – captured 4 wickets, Thasophan -3, Sujan,Mathusan and Thusanthan – 01 each.

1^st Innings of  Central :

Central scored 328 runs losing all the wickets.

Batting : Jeyatharsan – 77, Raj Kilington 53 NO and Mithusan 52.

Bowling : Kabilraj – 05wickets, Abines – 2, Sanusan, Jathusan and Soumian – 01 each.

2^nd  Innings of St John’s:  

St John’s scored 219 runs losing all the wickets.

Bowling : Sujan -04 and Mathusan – 03 wickets.

Central scored 101 runs losing 09 wickets and won the match by one wicket.
