JVP’s petition against KP fixed for July 25
Court of Appeal has fixed the JVP ‘s petition against Kmaran Pathmanathan alias KP, former LTTE Finance Controller for July 25. The Court of Appeal also extended till July 26, 2016, The overseas travel ban, imposed on Kumaran Pathmanathan.
Court made the order, when the JVP’s petition seeking the arrest of K.Pathmanathan was teken up for hearing. Additional Solicitor General Kapila Waidyaratne P.C. appearing with Deputy Solicitor General Priyantha Narwarne, submitted to Court that the CID was proceeding with the investigation, in respect of the conduct of K.P. But the findings available so far, did not indicate any irregular practises committee by K.P.
Counsel Upul Kumarapperuma, appearing for the petitioner JVP submitted to Court that his client was not satisfied with the proceedings of the CID and that the petitioner will not withdraw the petition.
Further hearing was fixed for July 25, 2016. The Bench comprised, Justice Preethi Padman Soorasena.
