Karaichchi Pradeshiya Sabha resolve to construct a Memorial shrine for Muliwaikkal victims

A resolution was adopted in the yesterday’s sitting of Karaichchi Pradeshiya Sabhai to establish a Memorial  Shrine inclusive of a memorial tower for the people mass murdered at Muliwaikkal during the final war of 2009.

The adopted resolution includes establishing this memorial shrine in Kilinochchi Green Park which is under the control of the PS and the commemncement of construction on May 18th and to complete it and declare opening it on May 18th next year.

Members of the PS, Jeevarajah and Rajinikanth handed over cheques for Rs. 500,000/= and Rs.100,000/= respectively from their own funds, to the chairman of the PS. Other members had offered to donate their one month’s salary towards this project.

The construction and the total expenditures are to be considered in meeting today presided by Chairman Velamaalihithan.

It is notable that sacrificial flames were lighted and the floral and silent tributes were paid for the Muliwaikkal victims in the above meeting.
