Kepapulavu- Puthukudiyirruppu Road opened for Public use yesterday

Kepapulavu – Puthukudiyirruppu road was permanently opened for the public use from yesterday from 5.00 a.m. Passenger buses and other vehicles were seen moving through this road. For a long time, people had been demanding the opening of this road.

When people resettled after the war, around 1 ½ Km. long road was blocked and an alternative road around 4 ½ Km long was constructed for the use of the people. People were subjected to several difficulties due to this.

The army earlier had consented to open this road. Recently 11 acre lands were released by the Army. However the Kepapulavu people are continuing their struggle for the 307th day yesterday demanding that whole of the lands 181 acre in extent belonging to 100 families should be released.
