The Non-summary Inquiries of the case of killing of two University students commenced yesterday in the Jaffna Courts.
When the case taken up before Jaffna Magistrate Court Magistrate P.Paul, State Counsel Mathiny Wigneswaran appeared in the court on behalf of the Prosecutor.
On 2016.10.20, two students of the Jaffna University, who were travelling on a Motor Cycle at mid-night were shot dead by police men on duty at the Kulappiddy junction.
During the Non-summary Inquiries, testimonies of 5 persons were recorded. Testimonies were given to the effect that the students were drunk at the time of the incident.
The Magistrate scheduled the recoding of witness of the father of one of the killed students and few other for 27th.
Five policemen were arrested and later released on bail. CID handled the inquiries.
