The Kirushanthy massacre remains to date the symbol of all crimes committed by the Army during the war Period in the North, said the NPC CM, C.V.Wigneswaran.
Commemoration of the massacre of Krishanthyt was held at Chemmany, the site of the massacre, yesterday and the CM said so, participating in it.
Continuing further he said, “ Kirushanthy did not live to see her 21 year. The truth is that she was not allowed to do so. But, we are here today with heavy hearts to commemorate the 21st death anniversary of Kirishanthy on the same spot where she was gang raped by six Army sanguinary ogres.. They have also killed her and buried her.
This is one of many examples for what happened to Tamil people during the war. But there are many violent atrocities which had not been brought to light. Like the fence mowing on the cultivation, those shrouded themselves in security had been committing grave offences. This kind of incident should not happen on this soil again. That is why we are locking horns with the Government demanding federal system of powers. Mistakes may be inquired upon, punishments can me meted out, but, who can give the life that was lost here, he said.
