As far as Sri Lanka is concerned the knowledge of 2nd language is very essential and that it is the duty and obligation of the parents and the teachers to select and teach English as the second language, insisted the northern Chief Minister, C.V.Wigneswaran.
The prize giving of a pre School was held on Saturday evening in Jaffna. The CM participated in this Prize giving and said as above.
The CM pointed out during his speech that, when you go to the higher classes and during the search for knowledge , English knowledge is very essential.
Although our youths hav studied and in higher post but, they unable place forward their ideas in public stages and conversations, the CM said.
In this context, learning English well is better for the future.
At the same time, he said that, interest should be shown not only on Education but, also on sports. Not participating in sports will drain the strength of the body and lethargy will set in, he said.
