Land acquired Mandaitivu for Navy

Action is being taken to acquire private lands in 3 places in Mandaitivu, including 30 acres belonging to the Kannakai Amman Temple. General Public and public organizations vehemently protested this acquisition.

Taking over lands belonging to a Hindu Temple while The Prime Minister is to visit Sri Lanka is a provocative act and that it amounts to intervening in the religious freedom, Public Oganizations said.

They also requested the District Secretary, Mandaitivu Divisional Secretary and people’s representative should intervene and stop this take-over.
