The Police said that a leg portion of the human remains already found in a previous excavation had been found in yesterday’s excavation.
Human remains were recently recovered when a Sea Food Company started constructing a shed in the Koddady Meenadchchi Amman Temple area.
In accordance with the B- Report submitted by the police who inspected the site, further excavation were undertaken in the presence of Acting Magistrate of Jaffna Magistrate Court and Judicial Medical Officer of Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
During this excavation, remains of portion of a leg was recovered in the spot where dresses and human bone remains were recovered earlier. Further a cloth bag containing, two upper garments , comb and powder tin used by ladies was also found in the spot.
It is suggested that a woman had been murdered and buried there. The human remains recovered are to be sent to Colombo for analysis.
