LSSP LeaderVitharana’s double standard unacceptable: LSSP rebels

Lanka Sama Samaja Party dissidents have accused former Minister Tissa Vitharana for the display of double standards. They allege that they were expelled from the party before the presidential elections for extending support for Sirisena’s 100 day program. But, now Tissa Vitharana has endorsed Sirisena’s 100 day program after he won the poll. The double standard is obvious.

 They charged:

“We have been sacked from the party for supporting Sirisena during the election campaign. Now the party leadership after Sirisena was elected the President of the country has pledged the party’s support for his 100 day programme. On top of this duplicity the party leadership continues to remove all those lower level cadres who supported Sirisena’s campaign even after the election.

Senior members who had been suspended from their positions and party membership in the first round were Keerthi Kariyawasam (Treasurer and Western Provincial Council Member), Dr Jayampathy Wickremaratne (politburo member and now senior advisor to the President on Constitutional Affairs), Lal Wijenayake (Central Provincial Council Member and Politburo Member),  Vimal Rodrigo (Deputy Secretary, Politburo member and member of the Colombo Municipal Council),  D.M. Abeyratne (President of the Government Press Workers’ Unions Federation and PB Member ), and Chameera Perera (Central Committee Member). “
